I co-own a property in Rocky Mount, near Ferrum. The other owner and I recently came to the Government Center here on 1255 Franklin St to pay some taxes. When we went to the treasurer, it was decent and quick. They have several tellers, sort of like the DMV. The lady whom helped us was friendly and cordial however, I did see 2 things I didn't like here.
2. While the lady whom helped us was friendly and cordial, she did seem to like chewing gum. While she was helping us from start to finish, she was chomping on chewing gum. Its a small thing I know, but could you be a little more professional and stop chewing on your gum while your talking to me? A few times, you could see the gum clearly in her mouth and she looked like she was ready to spit it at us. It was just gross.
.....I just want to say, how in the world would that woman know if he owned a house or not, in the few minutes meeting him? That comment was pretty ignorant.. and before that comment, calling the young man annoying. Don't these ladies have anything better to do than say things like that about a young man? Maybe they're just really THAT bored..
1. I saw a young man, probably 19-20 year old age range, who had just finished paying a tax. The lady whom was helping him told him "thank you, bye" and seemed OK at first. But then I heard her say to her co-worker "That kid was annoying... I wouldn't listen to anything he says" ..."did you hear him say he owned a house"?..."I doubt that, he looks too young".
